The A.M.I. Soft Anal Band Implant is a manually operated system to control the function of the sphincter anus. The total system is implanted subcutaneously. This means that no surgical opening of any body cavity is necessary! This simplifies the procedure and reduces the risks.

	Soft Anal Band Implant The scale is used for measuring the required size of the band, which will be placed inside the surgically created circular pocket around the anal sphincter.	The adjustable, artificial sphincter (the band) encircles the non functioning anal sphincter.
	Valve Small, reliable convex. When the valve is activated, fill-liquid of the system moves back from the band to the activator. The artificial sphincter is opened and defection is possible	The valve is activated by applying finger-pressure on the skin above the valve.
	Activator Strong, reliable and small balloon, made from silicone. Applying pressure (with the palm) on the skin above the activator, moves the fill-liquid of the system back to the band. The artificial sphincter is closed and continence is achieved.	The status of the artificial sphincter - OPEN or CLOSED - can be checked at any time. Protruding skin above the activator indicates an open sphincter. Flat skin indicates that the sphincter is closed.
	Calibration Port Used to adjust the patient required fill volume of the system.	Titanium Port with anti-kink-protection.
